We will soak up the magical Provence to our heart's content. It probably charmed Julius Caesar too when he established a Roman colony in Arles. The Romans had a theatre and an amphitheatre built here. Later it became the centre of Christianity. The most famous Provençal Cathedral of St. Trofima. Even Van Gogh's Sunflowers are a masterpiece of sunny Provence. He experienced his most productive period in Arles, during two years, he painted over 300 paintings here. Continuation to the town perched on a rock in the middle of Les Alpilles, Les Baux de Provence.
