During the underground excursion in the mines, we experience the history of gold and silver mining. The city was a leading mining town in the past. Banská Štiavnica is the one and only museum of love in the world dedicated to Marina Sládkovičová. She was the love of the Slovakian biggest poet and the poem Marína is written as the largest one in Guinness's book of record. The city lies in the mountains and the environs are full of lakes named tajch. One of the most beautiful and clean natural waters. End of the day we will go back to the hotel.
Day number 4 will be full of nature. We will take you to the Cave of Liberty, which is one of the most famous caves in the world and the most popular cave in Slovakia. The visit of the most interesting parts of the Demänovský Cave System opened to the public on 5.5.1933. Unique flowstone forms, underground Demänovka River, karst pools and typical river modeled passages and ceiling channels. The upper levels are with rich dripstone decoration on the walls, fissures and ceilings. After the trip, we will go to a traditional village named Vlkolinec which is all under the heritage of UNESCO. Place where you will melt away at its charm and traditions.
Last day of the trip we will visit one of the most lovely castles in Europe. Orava Castle is the basis for many movies such as Dracula. Magical and historical atmosphere of this place is breathtaking. Orava Castle, also called eagle nest because of its position on the top of the cliff, was owned by many aristocrats, county heads and noblemen, protecting important roads to Poland and serving as an administrative and military center for the region. Take some pictures from the citadel on the top of the castle hill, your friends will not believe their eyes how huge this castle is in real or on the picture.
